End of the School Year Wrap Up!!

Wow I can't believe the school year is over. Back in August, with all three kids in school, I was looking forward to some free time. That never happened and I'm glad. I spent a lot of time at the kid's school volunteering and substitute teaching. This was a very busy year and I enjoyed every minute.

Here's a little peak at some end of the year activities!!

Jake played Basketball for his school for the first time this year. It was not a winning season (everyone on the team had never played basketball before), but they had a great time and learned a lot. Jake recieved an award for leadership!

He also recieved an award for highest GPA in history! Way to go Jake. Sixth grade was a big transition year but he made it through and are looking forward to 7th grade being even better.

Katherine had a fantastic year in first grade. Here she is recieving her Presidential Academic Acheievement Award. She was also on the "A" honor role for the whole year! Way to go Katherine.

This is Katherine's FAVORITE first grade teacher EVER....Miss Calicutt. She is the sweetest thing. She truely shows the fruits of the spirit to these little ones, all the while teaching them a tremendous amount information.

Katherine's class had their end of the year party at the beach along with a visit to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Here is Katherine and her friends Adrian and Grace working on their scavenger hunt on the beach.

Each month the kids were given the opportunity to read a certain amount of books at home to recieve an award from the Pizza Hut "Book-It" program. Miss Calicutt took everyone who participated every month to Books-A-Million to buy some books and then on to Chick-fil-a for ice cream.

Lauren had a tremendous year in Pre-K. Jim and I were really worried how our little firecracker would do in school. Turns out she's quite the little student. Lauren is a bit on the independent side and therefore would do everything that was asked of her the first time, because she did not want to have to be told again!! Huhh funny she's doesn't mind if I tell her to do something 100 times. Oh but that means I need to work on something about ME. So let's not go there!

This is Lauren being recognized for showing the Godly character trait of being a helper. "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in it's various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

Here is Lauren participating in field day! She had a great time, well except when her team lost at tug-o-war!! I don't know where she gets her competitivenes?

Summer has officially begun and we are off to a great start. Jake has been enjoying basketball camp this week. While the girls and I have been at home getting ready to go to Peachtree City for 10 days. Jim's brother David and his family will be leaving for Kenya to do mission work tomorrow. The kids and I will be housesitting, dog sitting and spending time with Jim's parents!
